Swim - Ianthony"Um I I don't really think I should do this " Ian gulped, flicking to his awkward stuttery state. He leant 'casually' against the door frame, but the hand shakily rising to the back of his neck, fingers scratching just beneath his hair, contradicted the attempt at a casual mood.
"Oh, come on, stop making up stupid excuses." Anthony stood just outside, next to Ian. The sun glittered on his perfectly tanned body as he folded his arms impatiently, and the slight breeze rustled his swimming shorts.
"B-b-but " Ian gurgled. "M-m-my trunks are too loose."
"Ahem," Anthony coughed, and turned so Ian could see his side; there was a small metal object piercing and doubling over the waistband of his shorts. "I didn't have any problem. I'm sure there's another safety pin somewhere."
"Er " Ian desperately searched for another excuse, either to get him away, or just to stall a little longer.
"Come on!" Anthony's arm whipped out suddenly.
"Wha-!" Shrieked Ian as Anthony grip

much too bright.
Even though my eyes were closed
I could see it-
The skin of my arms prickled,
sweat dripped from my brow.
It was two in the afternoon but…
the sun was setting
through the window facing east.
I should have seen the hutch,
shelves lined with bone china
decorated with delicate leaves and vines.
I was so thirsty
and reaching for cups that should have been there.
Instead I found a billboard of butterflies,
the colors raging
more than any rainbow
I'd ever seen.
Their wings fluttered and flashed
yet somehow they moved in slow motion.
I wanted to stand,
wanted to reach out and touch them but…
I couldn't move,
and yet I laughed
ignoring my dry mouth
and the tingling in my feet.
There was a tempest
on the rise
and in my blood.
A sugar rush disguised
as a riot of butterflies
and they were swarming me.
There was a small vial
of insulin in my pocket
